Friendship in Sigma Kappa

Friendship is extending a hand not only to every sister that we meet across the nation, but also to everyone around us. Sigma Kappas foster friendships in all kinds of networks around campus. We know the importance of having a group of friends you can trust, and each of our sisters is a friend that you can count on.

"I met Emma six years ago on the soccer field in our freshmen year of high school, it was the sisterhood that brought us back together four years later. After joining Sigma Kappa with my sisters by my side, Mikiyah only brought more joy and smiles into my life. I'm so grateful to have found girls of my past and only continue to grow with them in my future. I have found wonderful friends with genuine memories I could never forget, thank you to the mystic bond for bringing me my home away from home"

"For the longest time, I thought living with sisters would be one of the craziest 'college' things I would do during my four years in chapter. After living with my best friends for a year, I came to realize that living with them was a very different crazy than the kind I imagined.

We struggle with classes, fight about buying toilet paper, complain about each other, sleep in the same bed just because we can, and spend most of our nights trying to decide what Netflix series to watch next. I learned having a spare key is important, the trash man comes on Thursdays, and that no one likes to do dishes. But the greatest lesson I learned through living with sisters is how to create love in a home with some of the most beautiful, ambitious and strong women I know."

- Shelby, on living with your sisters and best friends

Shelbi: My big is my best friend and role model. She’s always there for me whenever I need anything. Getting Sara as a big was one of the best things that’s happened to me while being in Sigma Kappa.

Sara: My little is my partner in crime and emotional support. She has helped me grow and has believed in me when I needed believing in myself.
